Wakamatsu Shrine

What it is

• A shrine dedicated to Waku Musubi no Kami.
• Rebuilt in 1792, showing Edo period construction.
• Also enshrines Inari Daimyojin and Hachiman.

What to see

• A red torii gate on the mountainside.
• Stone steps leading to the main shrine building.
• Inari Daimyojin enshrined partway up the steps.
• Hachiman Shrine to the right of the main building.
• Kumano Shrine and Tenmangu to the left.
• A water basin from 1847 at Kumano Shrine.

When to go

• Annual festival is held on September 29.
