Yakuoin is a historic temple known for its beautiful peony gardens and ancient stone monuments.

- A Shingon Buzan sect temple.
- Founded in the Kamakura period by Gangyo Shonin.
- Restored in the Edo period by Jitsuju Shonin.
- Re-established during the Meiji period.
