Yakuō-ji Temple

Yakuo-ji is an ancient temple with a unique history of changing its principal deity.
What it is
- A Shingon Buzan sect temple.
- Founded between 851 and 854.
- Restored in 1469 by Kaizen.

- The former principal image, Yakushi Nyorai, in the Yakushi-dō.
- The current principal image, Fudō Myōō.
