Zengyō-ji Temple is a historic Nichiren temple, home to unique graves and traditional architecture.

What it is

  • A Nichiren Buddhist temple.
  • Founded in 1596 by Zengyoin Nichizui.
  • Its sango is Saikokuzan.

What to see

  • Main hall and Kishimojindo, rebuilt in the 1960s.
  • A temple gate and a guest hall.
  • Cemetery with the grave of Ozawa Kane.
  • Ozawa Kane was wife of Charles Wirgman, a painting pioneer.
