増長院
Zōchō-in Temple: a historic temple with Kamakura-period origins, easily accessible from Matsudo Station.
What it is
- An independent temple of the Shingon school.
- Presumed to have existed since the Kamakura period.
- Originally a Sōtō Zen temple.
- Restored in the Taisho period by Shingan Kakujō-ni.
What to see
- A stone monument dating from 1245.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1969.
