Zōmyō-in Temple
増明院
Zomyoin Temple is a historic Shingon-shu temple in Tokyo, worth visiting for its Edo period origins.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha temple.
- Founded by Aoyama Soshun in the early Edo period.
- Was a shugenja's lodging before Tokugawa Ieyasu entered Edo.
- Restored by Eishun during the Hoei era (1704-1711).

- Excavated offering vessels.
- A five-pronged spear unearthed at the site.
