Zuiō-in Temple is a historic Rinzai Zen temple with beautiful architecture and nightingale floors.
What it is
- A Rinzai Zen temple of the Myōshin-ji school.
- Founded in 1653 by Naohide.
- Named after Naohide's daughter's posthumous name.
- Main deity is Shaka Nyorai.
What to see
- The sanmon gate, completed in 1658.
- The current main hall, completed in 1778.
- Nightingale floors in the main hall.
- Carvings of twin dragons and celestial maidens in the main hall.
