Anyo-ji Temple

Anyo-ji Temple is a historic Tendai temple with unique enshrined images.
What it is
- A Tendai sect Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 859 by Ennin.
- Restored in 1296 by Zonkai Shojo.
- Became a direct temple of Enryaku-ji in 1883.
What to see
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1789.
- Hidden Buddha Amida Sanzon is the principal image.
- Ryogen and Fudo Myoo enshrined on the left side.
- Bishamonten, Kisshoten, and Zenrishi Doji on the right.
