Ashizumi Shrine
阿志都彌神社
Ashizumi Shrine is a historic village shrine in Shiga, with a yearly festival on May 1st.
What it is
- A Shikinaisha Ronsha, a type of ancient shrine.
- Dedicated to the deity Shimazuhiko no Mikoto.
- Maintained in 1493 by Sasaki Notomori, lord of Funaki Castle.
- Ranked as a village shrine in 1876.
