Choukei-ji Temple, or Ajisai-dera, offers historic pagodas and beautiful hydrangeas.
What it is
- A temple of the Sennyu-ji sect of Shingon Buddhism.
- Founded as a sub-temple of Kaie-ji Temple.
- Rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyori during the Keicho era.
- Given its current name in 1680.
