Henjō-ji Temple

What it is

• A Buddhist temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism.
• Founded in 989 by Monk Kancho.
• Established at the request of Emperor Kazan or Emperor Enyū.
• Birthplace of the Shingon-shū Hirosawa-ryū.

• Principal image is the Eleven-faced Kannon.
• Main hall, Jūjū Sekitō, and storehouse are on the grounds.
