Honzui-ji Temple

What it is

• A Soto Zen temple founded in 1394 by Miura Yoshioki.
• The site was originally the Sakura no Gosho villa of Minamoto no Yoritomo.
• The founder was the final head of the Sagami Miura clan.

What to see

• A bronze bell from 1344 designated as a Kanagawa Prefectural Important Cultural Property.
• The graves of professor Toru Iwamura and sculptor Shikai Kitamura in the cemetery.
