Idai-ji Temple is a historic Rinzai Buddhist temple with a unique Kannon statue and ceiling painting.

  • Rinzai sect Myoshin-ji school temple.
  • Founded in October 1599 by Amuro Yoko.
  • Rebuilt in 1836 by Koyama Genkan.
  • 25th temple of the Ena 33 Kannon Pilgrimage.

  • Coffered ceiling painting Hyakka Mandala by Ozeki Shigenosuke.
  • Eleven-faced Kannon statue made of cypress wood.
  • Statue is 165cm tall.
  • Only Heian period Buddha statue in Ena City.
