Iwato-ji Temple

Iwato-ji Temple is a historic Buddhist temple rebuilt after war, offering ancient halls and a shrine.
What it is
- Koyasan Shingon sect Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 771 by Hodo Sennin.
- Main deity is Senju Sengan Kanzeon Bosatsu.
- 3rd sacred site of Hikami-gun Kannon Pilgrimage.

- Nio-do Hall, which survived a 1574 fire.
- Stone steps to the main hall, built in 1730.
