Jakkō-ji Temple is a historic Nichiren temple in Osaka, founded in 1205, with unique memorials and poetry.

What it is

  • A Nichiren sect temple, also called Eguchi Kimidō.
  • Founded in 1205 by Myōzen Kōshō Bikuni.
  • Its mountain name is Hōrinzan.
  • Converted from Tendai-shu to Nichiren-shu.

  • The main image is the Jikkai Daimandara.
  • Main hall rebuilt during the Shōtoku era (1711-1716).
