Jōshō-ji Temple

What it is

• A Jodo Shu Buddhist temple founded between 1624 and 1644 by Gakurensha Chokuyo.
• Originally named Jo-o-ji before merging with Josho-in temple during the early Showa era.
• The site serves as the current home for artifacts saved from the destroyed Josho-in temple.

• The current main image which was originally housed in the former Josho-in temple.
• The original main image of the temple kept in a separate dedicated room.

Getting there

• The temple is an eight minute walk from Soka Station.
