Joten-ji Temple is a historic Zen temple, birthplace of noodles and a festival, worth visiting for its cultural significance.

- Rinzai sect Tofuku-ji school temple.
- Founded in 1242 by Muto Sukeyori and merchants.
- Became a government-designated temple in 1243.
- Birthplace of Udon, Soba, Manju, and Yamakasa.

- Hakata Sennen-no-Mon gate, completed in 2014.
