Kaidan-in Temple
戒壇院
Kaidan-in is a historic Rinzai temple, one of Japan's three ordination platforms.
What it is
- Rinzai sect temple in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
- Also known as Chikushi Kaidan-in.
- One of the 'Three Kaidan of Japan'.
- Ganjin performed the first ordination here in 753.

- Main hall's seated Rushana Buddha statue.

- Bell tower with a bell made in 1701.
