覚応寺
A historic Shinshu Otani-ha temple in Tatebayashi City featuring the grave of a famous ukiyo-e artist and Shogunate history.
What it is
- A Shinshu Otani-ha temple originally founded in Hazuke Village as Ganjyo-ji.
- The founder was a descendant of the Kamakura period retainer Moritsuna Sasaki.
- The temple moved to its current location between 1661 and 1681.
- Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi granted the temple a thirty koku land area.

- The grave of ukiyo-e artist Kitao Shigemitsu, a city-designated historic site.
