亀山神社
Kameyama Shrine is a historic site with ancient burial mounds, worth visiting for its archaeological finds.
What it is
- A shrine in Itano-cho, Tokushima Prefecture.
- Dedicated to the deity Susanoo-no-mikoto.
- Renamed Kameyama Shrine in 1917.
- Five shrines merged into it after 1907.
What to see
- Awozuka Kofun, a 4th-century piled-stone tumulus.
- Two decorated bronze mirrors excavated from the Kofun.
- Shiratori Shrine, located north of the main shrine.
