Kamo Shrine is a historic guardian shrine with ancient trees and a sacred artifact.
What it is
- Founded in 865 as a guardian of the new capital.
- It is the tutelary deity of the Higashikyo settlement.
- Mino-o established it.
- Enshrines the stone arrow of Yamato Takeru no Mikoto.
