Kanabu Shrine
金生山神社
Kanabu Shrine, a historic site on Mount Kanabu, offers a glimpse into local history and nature.
What it is
- Originally Zao Gongen-gu at Myoseiwa-ji Temple.
- Separated from the temple and renamed in 1869.
- Dedicated to Emperor Ankan since 1869.
- Became a prefectural shrine in 1959.
What to see
- Located on the side of Mount Kanabu.
- Kanabu Fossil Museum is on the shrine grounds.
When to go
- Akasaka Festival is held on the second Sunday of April.
