What it is

  • Originally Zao Gongen-gu at Myoseiwa-ji Temple.
  • Separated from the temple and renamed in 1869.
  • Dedicated to Emperor Ankan since 1869.
  • Became a prefectural shrine in 1959.

  • Located on the side of Mount Kanabu.
  • Kanabu Fossil Museum is on the shrine grounds.

  • Akasaka Festival is held on the second Sunday of April.
