What it is

  • Shikinaisha (Myojin Taisha) shrine in Gose City, Nara Prefecture.
  • Dedicated to Katsuragi no Hitokotonushi no Okami.
  • Also enshrines Wakakeru no Mikoto (Emperor Yuryaku).
  • Commonly called "Ichigon-san" or "Ichikonji-san."

What to see

  • Main hall rebuilt in 1876, nagare-zukuri style.
  • Sacred old ginkgo tree in front of the worship hall.
  • Okumiya (inner shrine) with an iwakura (sacred rock formation).

  • Autumn Grand Festival (Goshinka-sai) on September 15.
