What it is

  • Dedicated to deities Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto.
  • Originated from ancient megalithic worship on Mt. Seiryu.
  • Rebuilt in 1585 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
  • Main hall rebuilt in 1638 by Tokugawa Iemitsu.
