Kumano Shrine

What it is
- Founded in 1042 by Shimura Shogen.
- Built on the ruins of Shimura Castle's second bailey.
- Designated as the guardian deity of Shimura Castle.
- Became the general guardian of seven villages in Shimura.

- Main shrine building, renovated in 1957.
- Ishi Shrine, one of the sub-shrines.
- Inari Shrine, one of the sub-shrines.
- Hachiman Shrine, one of the sub-shrines.
