What it is

  • A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Buddhist temple.
  • Founded in 1262 by the monk Chokai Hoin.
  • The 18th sacred site of Oku no Hosomichi.
  • Principal image is Dainichi Nyorai (Kongokai).
