Moriyama-hachimangū
守山八幡宮
Ancient Shinto shrine at Mount Hino's base, dedicated to imperial deities and a historic figure.
What it is
- A Shinto shrine, founded between 1048 and 1051.
- It is a branch shrine of Usa Hachiman-gū.
- Dedicated to Emperor Ōjin, Empress Jingū, and Hime Ōkami.
- Birthplace of Tetsugen Dōkō is next to the shrine.
What to see
- The shrine at the foot of Mount Hino (243m).
- Minami Ono Jinja is also enshrined here.
When to go
- Annual festival is held on October 15th.
