Myōhon-ji Temple is a historic Nichiren head temple with important cultural properties.
What it is
- A head temple of the Nichiren sect.
- Founded by Nichiren.
- Inherited by Nichirō, one of Nichiren's six senior disciples.
- Designated a Japan Heritage cultural property in 2016.

- The main hall, built in 1931.
- The Soshidō (founder's hall), built between 1830 and 1844.
- The Jyakushi-dō (hall), rebuilt in 1925.
- The Immyōdoji Honzon, a mandala written by Nichiren.
