What it is

  • An uninhabited island located 16 kilometers southwest of Iriomote Island.
  • A state-owned National Natural Monument within the Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park.
  • A designated National Wildlife Protection Area for thousands of nesting seabirds.
  • The only location in Japan where the plant Limonium wrightii grows naturally.

What to see
