Nyuu Shrine

Nyuu Shrines are ancient Shinto shrines with unique deities and historical architecture.
What it is
- Two ancient Shinto shrines in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture.
- Kami-Nyuu shrine was relocated to its current site in 764.
- Kami-Nyuu enshrines Niutsuhime-no-mikoto and Mitsuhanome-no-mikoto.
- Shimo-Nyuu enshrines Takaokami-no-kami and Niutsuhime-no-mikoto.
What to see
- Kami-Nyuu's main hall was rebuilt in 1663.
- Shimo-Nyuu's main hall was rebuilt in 1667.
- Kami-Nyuu's crest is Enzan-sui.
- Kami-Nyuu's shrine forest is a green conservation area.
