A Japan Heritage shrine founded in 1280, known as the Shrine of Happiness and featuring historic divine statues.

What it is

  • Founded in 1280 by Sagara Yoritoshi in Asagiri Town.
  • Enshrines the deities Izanagi, Izanami, and Hayatamao no Okami.
  • Designated as a Japan Heritage site in 2015.
  • Known locally by the alternative name Kofuku Jinja.

  • The current main building which was constructed in 1931.
