What it is

  • A Buddhist temple founded in 738 by Douchi Shonin.
  • Dedicated to the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva.
  • 29th sacred site of Saigoku Yakushi 49 Pilgrimage.
  • 33rd sacred site of Tajima Saigoku 33 Pilgrimage.

  • Main hall, a National Important Cultural Property from 1387.
  • Nio-mon gate built in the Edo period.
  • Yakushi-do hall built in the Edo period.
  • Multi-storied pagoda rebuilt in 1768.
