Enryū-ji Temple

Enryū-ji Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with ancient statues and traditional architecture.
What it is
- A Shingon-Omuro school temple.
- Founded by Kokei between 995 and 999.
- Located at the foot of Mt. Atago.
- Its mountain name is Jikeisan.
What to see
- Many Heian and Kamakura period Buddhist statues.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1786.
- The pagoda, rebuilt in 1751.
- The bell tower, rebuilt in 1760.
- The main gate, rebuilt in 1753.
