Anraku Yamamiya Shrine

Ancient shrine in Kagoshima with unique treasures and a giant camphor tree.

- Officially named Yamamiya Shrine.
- Founded in 709 AD.
- Enshrines Emperor Tenji, Emperor Jito, and Tamayori-hime.
- Merged with six nearby shrines in 807 AD.

- Many treasures, including items from the Heian period.
- A 23.6m tall camphor tree, a national natural monument.
- 100 bronze mirrors, one an important cultural property.
- Noh masks and Kagura masks.

- Spring festival is on the second Saturday of February.
