What it is

  • Officially named Yamamiya Shrine.
  • Founded in 709 AD.
  • Enshrines Emperor Tenji, Emperor Jito, and Tamayori-hime.
  • Merged with six nearby shrines in 807 AD.

  • A 23.6m tall camphor tree, a national natural monument.
