Hirohata Shrine is a historic guardian shrine with lively spring and autumn festivals.
What it is
- Established in 1630 by Hijikata Ouji.
- Dedicated to Emperor Ojin and Kotoshiro-nushi-no-kami.
- Served as a guardian shrine for the Hijikata family.
- Renamed Hirohata Shrine in 1871.

- Spring Grand Festival is around April 15.
- Autumn Grand Festival is from October 1 to 3.
- Festivals feature mikoshi processions and sumo tournaments.
