- A Nichiren sect temple founded in 1673 originally known as Shinryo-in
- Formerly a sub-temple of Tenmyokoku-ji belonging to the Jushi-hoen lineage
- Served as the administrator for Suwa Daimyojin during its early history
- Officially renamed to Shinryo-ji in 1952 with the mountain name Koshozan
