Ryūsen-ji Temple
龍泉寺
Ryūsen-ji is an ancient Shingon temple, a Shugendō training ground with a sacred spring.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Daigo-ha head temple.
- Founded around 700 AD by En no Gyōja.
- Main deity is Miroku Bosatsu.
- A training ground for Shugendō ascetics.

- The "Ryu no Kuchi" spring with purifying water.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1960.
- The temple's back mountain, a natural monument.

- Hachidai Ryūōdō Grand Festival: second Sunday of October.
