What it is

  • Founded in 833 as a guardian shrine.
  • Protected Emperor Junna's detached palace.
  • Emperor Junna's daughter recovered from smallpox here.

  • Four main halls stand on the grounds.
  • A Kagura-den (dance hall) is present.
  • A Mikoshi-gura (portable shrine storage) is here.
