An uninhabited island of granodiorite reefs famous for its literary connection to Natsume Soseki and its resilient pine trees.
What it is
- An uninhabited island in the Seto Inland Sea consisting of three granodiorite reefs.
- A government designated Registered Monument since 2007 owned by Matsuyama City.
- Known as Turner Island and referred to as Aoshima in the novel Botchan.
- The island covers a total area of approximately 1199 square meters.

- Twenty-four pine trees replanted by local volunteers after a beetle infestation.
- Views of the island from ferries entering Matsuyama Port.
- Granodiorite rock formations situated 700 meters south of Takahama Port.
