Shinkan-ji Temple

What it is

• A Rinzai Nanzen-ji sect temple founded between 1410 and 1414.
• The mortuary temple for founder Hatakeyama Mitsuie and the Yusa clan.
• Site of the funeral for powerful daimyo Miyoshi Nagayoshi in 1566.
• Rebuilt with funds from Tokugawa Ieyasu after burning down in 1615.
