Taikyuji is a historic Jodo-shu temple in Kasugai City, rebuilt multiple times.
What it is
- Jodo-shu temple in Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture.
- Founded in 1644 by Onozawa Gorobei.
- Granted three titles by Yoshinao-ko.
- Received 30-koku territory from 3rd Owari lord in 1695.
What to see
- Main hall enshrines a seated Amida Nyorai statue.
- Honen Shonin and Zendo Daishi statues are also enshrined.
- Temple built facing east towards Jokoji Temple.
- New main hall constructed in 2017.
