  • Founded as a guardian shrine for Goko Mutsumi Village.
  • Initially enshrined Ryuja-shin of Izumo Taisha for rainmaking.
  • Later enshrined Takao-no-mikoto and Yamato Takeru.
  • Established as Takao Shrine in 1879.
