Takao Shrine is a historic local guardian shrine, enshrining deities for rainmaking and protection.
What it is
- Founded as a guardian shrine for Goko Mutsumi Village.
- Initially enshrined Ryuja-shin of Izumo Taisha for rainmaking.
- Later enshrined Takao-no-mikoto and Yamato Takeru.
- Established as Takao Shrine in 1879.
