Tanjō-ji Temple is a significant Nichiren Buddhist site, built on the founder's birthplace.
What it is
- A Buddhist temple of the Nichiren sect.
- Founded in 1276 by Nichike, a disciple of Nichiren.
- Built on the site of Nichiren's birthplace.
- Designated a Grand Head Temple in 1946.
