Tōun-ji Temple is a historic Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple with a unique kettle on its roof.
What it is
- Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple, founded in 1573.
- Commonly known as 'Kama-dera' (Kettle Temple).
- Founded by Ichian, who enshrined the Migawari Jizō-son statue.
- Merged with another Tōun-ji Temple in 1922.
