Unomori Shrine
鵜森神社
Unomori Shrine is a historic site enshrining deities and clan heads, easily accessible from the station.
What it is
- A shrine dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami and Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
- Also enshrines Sugawara Michizane and Hamada clan heads.
- Called Eda Shrine during the Edo period.
- Located on the former site of Hamada Castle.
What to see
- The shrine crest is Hidari Mitsudomoe.
- A 16-ken Shiromiboshi Kabuto Hachi is a cultural property.
When to go
- The Tahara Inari Festival is held on April 9th.
