Yahagi Shrine is an ancient shrine with historical ties to a powerful clan and a unique cultural property.
What it is
- A Shikinaisha shrine in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture.
- Also known as Betsugu Hachiman.
- Ancestral home of the Yahagi no Muraji clan.
- Was a branch palace of Iwashimizu Hachimangu in the 11th century.
What to see
- Several large camphor trees on the grounds.
- A large ginkgo tree in front of the shrine.
- A 'Sankakubuchi Shinju-kyo' mirror was excavated here.
- The mirror is a Yao City designated tangible cultural property.
