Zengyō-in Temple

Zengyoin is a historic Nichiren temple, home to a unique deity and part of a pilgrimage.
What it is
- A Nichiren Buddhist temple founded in 1466.
- Known as the Myoken-gu of Nishijin.
- A Tatchu temple of Myoken-ji head temple.
- One of the Rakuyo Junishi Myoken Reijo pilgrimage sites.
What to see
- Enshrines the only Tenpai Myoken Daibosatsu.
- Myoken Daibosatsu prayed for by Emperor Go-Sai.
- Myoken-do was built in 1830.
