Enjō-ji Temple
縁城寺
Enjō-ji Temple is a historic Shingon Buddhist temple with important cultural properties and a natural forest.
What it is
- Shingon Buddhist temple in Kyōtango, Kyoto Prefecture.
- Founded in 717 by the Indian monk Zenmui Sanzo.
- Known locally as "Hashiki no Kannon-san."
- Rebuilt in 988 as an imperial prayer temple.
