Kawasukune Shrine (Higashiagatsuma)
甲波宿禰神社
Ancient shrine in Gunma, dedicated to purification deities, with a history spanning over 1200 years.
What it is
- Established in 785 by Ono Kinzen.
- Dedicated to Hayaakitsuhiko-no-kami and Hayaakitsuhime-no-kami.
- Revered by the Nagao clan during the Sengoku period.
- Renamed Kawasukune Shrine in the Meiji period.

- Fifty-eight auxiliary shrines on the grounds.
