A 3,033-meter peak in the Hida Mountains offering dramatic ridge views and a glacial cirque within Chubu Sangaku National Park.
What it is
- A 3,033-meter peak located on the border of Nagano and Gifu prefectures
- Part of the Hida Mountain range within Chubu Sangaku National Park
- Named by Masao Udono in 1909 and features a third-class triangulation point
- Recognized as one of the Continued 100 benchmark mountains of Gifu
What to see
- The Daikiretto ridge which connects the summit to Mount Kitahotaka
- A glacial cirque located on the eastern slope of the mountain
- The Minami-dake Hut situated 200 meters south of the summit
- Rivers flowing from the mountain slopes toward the Sea of Japan
